What Does a Home Inspection Include?

A brief description of a home inspection would include the following:

  • Site conditions such as grades, drainage, retaining walls and fencing.
  • Foundation and structural support system.
  • Exterior coverings and roof.
  • Plumbing/ Water, waste piping, gas, and water heater.
  • Electrical.
  • HVAC/ Heat, air conditioning or ventilation system.
  • Interior of the structure/ Floors, walls, ceilings, windows, doors and stairs.
  • Kitchen.
  • Bathrooms.
  • Fireplaces.

There are also limited inspections available for those who are purchasing a condominium or town home. Usually with this type of structure, most of the building is inaccessible and the utilities might be provided by the Home Owners Association. This type of inspection is referred to as a Condo Interior and the inspection fee is less. Common areas can be inspected if requested. Just let your agent know or contact ARCH for further details.
